Our Vision

To reach the world around us with the the life-changing message of Jesus Christ and redefine what it looks like to love, serve, and be the church.

Our Beliefs

Our beliefs begin and end with the story of God, who loves all people and created all people in His image and likeness, and His Son Jesus, who died for all people. That story is found in the written Word of God, the Bible. The unconditional love of God shapes all of our beliefs and actions and we want everyone to know and experience that love.

I John 4:7-21; John 3:16-17; Romans 5:8

  • The Bible is the Word of God.

It was written by men under the supernatural guidance and inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Because it is inspired by God, it is absolute truth without any form of error. As it is a direct revelation from God to mankind, it reveals the heart and wisdom of God, which is superior to all other forms of wisdom and reason.

    2 Timothy 3:15-17; 1 Peter 1:23-25; Hebrews 4:12

  • One true God, three distinct persons

The one true God exists as the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit. Each part of this Godhead (also known as the Trinity) serves a different function and purpose, but they each possess equal power and authority, and are all three the same one true God.

    Deuteronomy 6:4; Mark 12:29; Isaiah 43:10-11; Matthew 28:19

  • Jesus is the only begotten Son of God.

Jesus is 100% human and 100% God. He is God’s only plan for bringing people back into a right relationship with Him. Jesus became flesh and lived a perfect and sinless life here on Earth over 2,000 years ago. Jesus took the judgment of God the Father for all of our sins and became a sacrifice and substitution for all people. Jesus conquered death by rising from the dead so that we could have eternal life with Him. After His resurrection, He ascended into Heaven, and will return again one day to judge the living and the dead, and to rule and reign as King of all kings.

    Colossians 2:9; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:14; Philippians 2:5-11; Matthew 1:22-23

  • The Holy Spirit lives within every believer.

The Holy Spirit regenerates and dwells within every believer in Jesus. He confirms and assures us of our salvation, guides us into all truth, glorifies Jesus, and convicts us of sin. The Holy Spirit gives us the power to live a righteous life, and always points us to the cross of Christ. He comforts us, gives us spiritual gifts, and empowers us for service.

    I Corinthians 3:16; Romans 8:26; John 14:26

  • We are made in the image and likeness of God.

God made mankind His most prized creation, and we are purposed to have relationship with and to worship our Creator. Being made in His image, every human is uniquely created with purpose and is worthy of dignity, respect, and Christian love. We were originally created to live in a relationship with our Creator, but sin separated all of mankind from Him. As a result, no human can fully live in His presence apart from receiving Jesus as Lord and Savior.

    I Corinthians 15:44-49; II Corinthians 3:18, Genesis 1:26-27

  • Eternity is real.

Heaven and Hell are real places. Those who have called upon the name of the Lord, repented of their sins and have received the free gift of salvation will reside in Heaven when their physical bodies die. Those who have not will spend eternity in Hell and be separated from God forever. Our sins must be paid for. We will either pay for them ourselves and bear the punishment, or we will receive Christ, who suffered once for all.

    II Thessalonians 1:8-9; Jude 1:7; Revelation 20:12-15; John 14:2-4; Philippians 1:21; II Corinthians 5:6-8

  • Salvation is available to all people.

Salvation is a gift from God, and is freely given to those who repent of their sins and put their faith and trust in Jesus (believing in His death, burial, and resurrection), making Him their Savior and Lord. Salvation cannot be earned by any human effort; it is given and received by the grace of God through faith.

    Romans 6:23; II Corinthians 9:15; Ephesians 2:8-9

  • By the power of the Holy Spirit we strive to obey the command of Jesus, “Be holy, for I am holy.” Sanctification is the will of God for all believers, and should be earnestly pursued by walking in obedience to God’s Word.

    Hebrews 12:14; I Peter 1:15-16; I Thessalonians 5:23-24; I John 2:6

  • The church is the holy Body of Christ, also known as the bride of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit. The church is tasked with fulfilling the great commission of Jesus, by making disciples of all people. Each believer is an integral part of the church, and their names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

    I Thessalonians 2:4

Our Core Values

We are Redefined.

We are Jesus followers. We believe Jesus loves us, died for us, and redefined who we are so that we can live abundant lives, being everything God created us to be.

2 Corinthians 5:17

We are Relational.

Every human being is created in the image of God to be in relationship with Him and with one another. We love one another without reserve, just as we are loved by God. At RCC, you belong here…even if you aren’t sure what you believe.

Romans 5:8

We are Real.

We are authentic, transparent, and messy. We don’t hide our flaws; instead, we celebrate together how Christ has redeemed and is redeeming them. We are real with one another, and always striving to be more like Christ tomorrow than we are today.

James 2:5

We are Resilient.

We will do whatever it takes to get Jesus to people and people to Jesus, no the matter the cost.

Romans 1:16

We are Radical.

We live radical lives with a radical faith. We don’t shrink back when fear or failure comes our way, but instead we rise up with a defiant belief that with God, anything is possible.

Mark 10: 27

We are Receptive.

We are always ready to learn and receive. We are constantly looking for ways to be more like Jesus and we strive to grow our knowledge about God, about His Church, and about people.

2 Peter 3:18
